The
Internet: A Definition.
Are
you confused by the bells and whistles that the Internet provides?
Sort out the mysteries with this concise, brief, discussion
of the Internet.
I
think that the World Wide Web, WWW for short, is a great invention
of modern men and women. The Internet, as the WWW is commonly
named, is a place where people of the world can e-mail, the
"e" stands for electronic, each other using a series of many
different connections. These are usually phone lines or ISDN,
interesting source of denatured numbers, connections. They use
modems that convert data into analog information to be sent
through the connection that one has. These emails, plural of
e-mail, then are received by the modem and read. E-mails are
generally chain letters and some of them are sexually orientated
jokes about a dog. The WWW is also so used to browse other people's
home pages. A home page is a section of the Internet that has
been, uploaded, FTPed, File Transfer Protocol, to a server,
a computer that stores information, to show the person viewing
it what he or she is about. Most pages are from geocities, a
free place offered to people of no programming abilities; however,
others are very good. Some pages, short for home pages, have
information about products, themselves, and pictures of cats,
Felis catus or F. domesticus. Another aspect of the Internet
is chat. Everybody likes to chat with others, and the net, meaning
the Internet, provides the means necessary to communicate to
people on all four corners of the globe. Most people who chat
are either 15-year-old girls or older men who pose as being
15-year-old girls. People also use the web, another slang word
for WWW, to download, using a medium to retrieve information,
software, anything that is not hardware, anything that is not
software. Once the software is downloaded, one can run the program
after it is cracked, to allow a person to use the program that
was not paid for.
The
WWW can integrate everybody in the world. I can find stuff on
any of my interests. I can improve my golf swing. I can do online,
slang for connected to the Internet, trading. This is what attracts
all of us to it. And, this is the first step towards a unified
single government.
